Sessions to Watch at BBCON including Keith Heller on Social and CRM

First of all, what is BBCON? BBCON is the Blackbaud Conference for Nonprofits which is the premiere event for Blackbaud. This is the perfect place to meet thousands of other nonprofit professionals and listen to industry leaders speak about timely topics. Some of the keynote speakers this year include Jim Ziolkowski Founder and CEO of BuildOn, a nonprofit organization that builds schools in developing countries, and Kara Worcester from Wreaths Across America, whose mission is to remember fallen heroes. Two of our partners, Heller Consulting and Firefly Partners, have booths in the exhibit hall and will be attending #BBCON on September 29th-October 1st.

Some of the other sessions we are really looking forward to are:

Direct Mail & Social Media: Strange Bedfellows or a Match Made in Heaven, with panelists Frank Barry of Blackbaud, Casey Golden of Small Act, Carie Lewis from the Humane Society and Farra Trompter of Big Duck.
Understanding the Value of Social Media Influencers by Rebecca Bramlett from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Mark Davis from Blackbaud
The Mathematics of Fundraising¬†by Event 360’s CEO Jeff Shuck

Not only will Heller Consulting be at Booth 129 this year, but they are also sponsoring the BBCON Lounge. Be sure to stop by the booth, say hi and register to win a brand new iPad mini from Heller before you go to the Lounge to relax during your breaks. Keith Heller will be hosting a roundtable on Monday at 12 (noon) titled ‘Successfully Implementing CRM’ and will discuss best practices for adopting a CRM strategy that truly supports your strategies and drives your organizations growth. Right after the roundtable on Monday, September 30th Keith will be speaking in room Maryland D on Social Media & CRM – how to bridge the gap at 1:30 pm. Curious about how Social Media fits in with your CRM? Then don’t miss Keith’s session!

Be sure to follow along with us on Twitter, using the #BBCON hashtag:

We also created a few lists so we can follow along with all of the speakers of #BBCON and the companies they are representing.
Here is a list of all of the speakers who will be presenting at the 2013 Blackbaud #BBCON Conference:

And here are the list of companies they work for:

Lastly, we will be analyzing the tweets over the course of the conference and will be putting together a snapshot of the event afterward. We’ve previously put together these snapshots for the Bridge Conference (#AtTheBridge) and Social Media For Nonprofits (#SM4NP). Go see Heller Consulting at booth 129 to sign up to receive the snapshot after the event and you’ll be automatically signed up to win an iPad Mini!

Will you be attending #BBCON this year? What sessions are you looking forward to attending?

  1. Susan Kenna Wright

Agreed. Thanks for this helpful set of information.

  2. Great info here! For those of us who aren’t able to attend in person, are there additional options to participate remotely? For example, will there be any live streaming of presentations?

    • That would be great if they live streamed the conference. Unfortunately they don’t. For those of us staying at home during bbcon, I’d recommend following along via their Twitter account: @bbcon and the conference hashtag: #bbcon.

  3. What a great opportunity to talk to organizations that are using the same fundraising system! My clients constantly ask me “how are other organizations doing this?”. Conferences like BBCON are the perfect place to find out.

These are some great recommendations. I always enjoy attending BBCON. Don’t forget to attend a wide range of session topics and technical levels. You never know what new insights you’ll learn!

  5. Thanks for the lists and feed! This will make it a lot easier to follow all the people and events this year. With so many things going on, it can get overwhelming.

  6. Thanks for this great set of resources for #BBCon — and for spotlighting our “Strange Bedfellows…” session. Definitely come by and say HELLO!
