Raiser’s Edge Integration with Luminate Online


Good news for those clients who have been exporting/importing information between The Raiser’s Edge and Luminate Online: Blackbaud has released the first connector between the two systems (the announcement page indicates that “The Raiser’s Edge has changed its status from ‘single’ to ‘in a relationship’”). Looking very similar to the Blackbaud Net Community “linking” interface, it allows biographical and gift information to flow between Raiser’s Edge and Luminate Online. Information flows bi-directionally, so that your records in Raiser’s Edge (RE) and Luminate Online will always match one another.

Why was this connector just released? The merger of Blackbaud and Convio provided Blackbaud with insights into the system that they never had before, allowing them to build this automated integration to synchronize your online fundraising efforts to your fundraising database.

The connector is currently optimized for:

  • Entering and updating Constituent biographical information including: Addresses, Primary Business and Spouse
  • Entering and updating one-time gifts
  • Entering and updating recurring gifts
  • Entering and updating e-commerce gifts (including those with additional donations)
  • Entering and updating tribute gifts (for those without the Tribute module, this information will be entered as a gift attribute)

Integration with RE:Events and RE:Membership is not currently available, but according to Blackbaud, integration is slated to roll out later this year.
