#AtTheBridge Social Media Snapshot


The 8th Annual Bridge to Integrated Marketing & Fundraising Conference (or for short, BridgeConf) recently took place in Washington DC. This sold out conference featured many amazing panels and speakers, including Keynote Presenters: Johannah Barry, Joseph Pine and Cheryl Strayed. The sessions ranged from social media for nonprofits, maximizing your revenue over the phones, email marketing case studies, and there was even a session that focused purely on campaigns that #tanked. We didn’t have the opportunity to attend this conference in person, however we actively watched the #AtTheBridge hashtag during the event and analyzed the tweets coming from the conference to put together this social snapshot of #AtTheBridge.

To generate this report, we gathered all of the tweets using the #AtTheBridge hashtag from July 29th (the day before the conference) until August 3rd (the day after the conference). With almost 2,000 tweets to sort through, we had our work cut out for us! Luckily Radian6 came to our rescue and helped us dig into the data and get a quick view of what was going on over the three-day event.

Let’s get to it! Looking at every tweet over the course of the six days we tracked, these were the top 50 most mentioned words:


#AtTheBridge was the most popular hashtag, but there were a few others that were used often as well. Some of the hashtags were for particular sessions (#multichannelmyths for example) while others were simply additional topics that came up a lot (#socialmedia and #fundraising). The positive sentiment of this conference is also readily apparent in this tag cloud: Thank, Best, Great, Good etc all show up in the top 50 words used during #AtTheBridge.
